Respect for our client’s privacy is an absolute condition of employment. We do not provide specific information or photos about incidents that the company has responded to. The loss of a family member of loved one. The loss of a family member is a very personal matter. We will quickly work to address your needs and perform the work that you require so that you are able to focus on the matters related to your loss. Most often we end up dealing with your insurance company directly, on your behalf, at the family’s request.
How long is your work going to take?
The majority of our jobs are completed within 3 days from when the phone call was made to notify us. So that means that your home is back to the way it was before within 72 hours of your call to us
Can I become sick or infected by dried blood?
Yes, some diseases can still be active in dried blood for example Hepatitis which can remain in dried blood for in excess of two weeks.
Do I need to leave my house or business while the clean up is being completed?
The answer is not always. We prefer if we are the only people in the room which was damaged due to the chemicals being used for our work. We understand that some people wish to remain onsite to watch over the process.
What are blood borne pathogens?
Blood borne pathogens are pathogenic microorganisms in the blood or other body fluids that can cause illness and disease in people. These microorganisms can be transmitted through contact with contaminated blood and body fluids.
Some examples of blood borne pathogens are:
HEPATITIS B (HBV), HEPATITIS C (HCV), Other NON A, NON B HEPATITIS, HUMAN IMMUNODEFICIENCY VIRUS (HIV), MALARIA
Other body fluids besides blood have demonstrated a viral load sufficient to potentially transmit infection.
These fluids are:
Cerebrospinal fluid
Synovial fluid
Pleural fluid
Amniotic fluid
Pericardial fluid
Peritoneal fluid
Semen
Vaginal secretions
Any body fluid contaminated with blood or saliva in dental procedures.
Body fluids in emergency situations that cannot be recognized.
How long can blood borne diseases live outside the body?
There are a lot of varying opinions on this subject, but we know for sure that HIV can survive for 3 to 5 hours and Hepatitis B & C can survive for 4 to 5 days and some say up to 2 months.
What is the average cost for this type of specialized cleaning service?
We are happy to give a quote for all of the work that we do. Most of the time insurance companies for home-owners cover our work and we pay the deductible from our own pocket. In a rare situation where insurance is not an option we will work with the family to address the costs of our services and set up a payment plan if required.
Are my home, business and valuables safe during the clean up process?
Yes they are but we also welcome someone that stays on site to watch over the property and safeguard the home. Med-Tech is a family owned and operated company. Any employees from outside of our family have been thoroughly screened by law enforcement or they currently work in law enforcement or paramedic type capacitie.
